What is a baby shower party ? When a woman is expecting a baby it is a really exciting time in her life.As the due date approaches,friends and family start to get excited about the new arrival.
Many people like to help out the new parents by buying gifts and being helpful to them for the new family.So a baby shower is planned.
These are parties that are organized by the woman’s close friends to which other friends and family are invited. More often than not the function is attended by women- but men are not excluded! Traditionally women are into this far more than men.
At these gatherings, there is traditionally food and drink. Alcohol is taboo here because it is not good for a pregnant woman. It would actually be most rude to have a drink that the star couldn’t enjoy also.
Usually there are games that are centered around baby themes.
This is a great way for everyone to participate and talk to each other during the gathering for fun and enjoyment.
One unusual game that can be played at the party is to decorate baby bibs. This creates lots of laughs and fun. The mom will smile with each one and remember the party every time she places the bib on the child.
The presents that every guest takes to the baby shower are usually just for the baby; but I hope someone remembers the mom also.
Usually the parents of the pregnant woman will sit down with her and make a list of what she wants or needs for the new baby. This is such a good idea as it helps all of the guests have some idea of what to buy to bring to the shower. By doing this she can make sure that none of the gifts are duplicates.
